Ingredients: MAKES 30:
6 tbsp butter, softened
6 tbsp caster sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
225 g/8 oz plain flour, plus extra for dusting
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Icing
175 g/6 oz icing sugar, sifted
3 tbsp orange juice
25 g/1 oz plain chocolate, melted

Method
1. Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and milk until well blended. Sift the flour and cocoa together and gradually mix together to form a soft dough. Use your fingers to incorporate the last of the flour and bring the dough together.

2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface until 5-mm/ lA -inch thick. Using a 5- cm/2-inch fluted round cutter, cut out as many biscuits as you can. Re-roll the dough trimmings and cut out more biscuits. Place the biscuits on 2 baking sheets lined with sheets of baking parchment, allowing room for expansion during cooking, and bake in a preheated oven, 180 0 C/3500 F, for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

3.Cool the biscuits on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.

4. To make the icing, place the sugar in a bowl and stir in enough orange juice to form a thin icing that will coat the back of a spoon. Spread the icing over the biscuits and leave to set. Drizzle with method chocolate and leave to set before serving.
