Build an empire by sending out armies and conquering villages. A great 3D strategy game!

The objective in Romans is to fight your way to the other side of the map which is split into horizontal rows. You can choose which row to field a unit on using the W and s keys. Press the space bar to field a unit units take time to recharge. Their recharge status is shown as a filling square behind the units portrait on the hud bar. Press escape to pause the game at anytime.

To select a different unit type, use the a and d keys. As you or the barbarians reach the other side of the map, the battle balance bar will be updated to show how far you are from victory or defeat. Different units have different strengths and weaknesses which you will discover as you play. More information regarding units can be found in the upgrade screen unit descriptions.

Use the i, k, j and l keys in a 2 player battle for player 2. Every 10 enemies you dispatch will allow you to field a Scorpio artillery piece, which fires arrows at your opponent choose the row you wish to deploy the Scorpio on with the w and s keys, when you are ready, press the e key to deploy it. The Scorpio will continue to fire at enemy units until it runs out of arrows or is attacked by an enemy unit.

The barbarians will use a variety of different battle strategies against you. Sometimes. They will behave offensively. At other times. They will behave defensively. You must analyse their attacks in order to find their weaknesses and exploit them in order to be successful in battle.
